Published in February 2026, this is a coming-of-age story about a young, spoiled girl who must face the darkest parts of herself to find her place in society. She must navigate crumbling friendships, fragile new love, and learn to hide her new, forbidden power in order to survive.
Hi! I'm J.C. Cooper. Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile and my books! A bit about me: I have always loved to read and write. In elementary school, I was reading under my desk. In high school, I was reading late into the night. Through it all, I was writing. Whether it was a fantastical tale inspired by my latest read, a magical adventure crafted to escape from the real world for a while, or just writing down my thoughts, I cannot remember a time when I didn't write.
A few years ago, while my fiancé was deployed, I decided that if I was going to be writing these stories anyway, purely for the love of it, I may as well try to bring them to life. It started out as something just for fun and just for me. I hired an editor to see what the feedback would be, and I loved it SO much that I did it again. Then, I commissioned a cover because I wanted to see what that would look like, too. Lo and behold, here we are today!
I hope that if you're reading my words, you can feel the same happiness - and sometimes sadness - that I felt while learning to create it, edit it, and then self-publish it. Enjoy!
